By learning how to meditate you will get an important tool that helps develop your confidence and determination, your ability to manage stress and to keep yourself in a healthy state both physically as well as emotionally. Here is an approach to help you get results very quickly in one month. If you follow the exact steps laid out here you may look back in a month’s time and realise that life has become a lot better already.

How to Meditate Effectively In 30 Days

Step 1: First 5 Days

First relax all that is required for the first 5 days is to sit down either with crossed legs on the ground or uncrossed legs on a firm chair. Keep your back straight, you may like to support your back with a cushion. Now while keeping your eyes closed pay attention to the thoughts that pop into your mind. Do not focus on the thoughts or try to stop them. Do not do anything with the thoughts just notice them, let them come and go as they please. The first part of learning to meditate is not to analyse or follow your thoughts just to become aware of them.

Step 2: Second 5 Days

Days 6 to 10 is going to get you to experience a hypnotic state of mind and body like in self hypnosis. This time instead of sitting you will lie down and hold one of your arms up in the air. By holding your arm up you will be woken up in case you fall asleep by it falling down. Now you return to noticing your thoughts just like in the 5 days before. Some people while going through this part of the approach experience a state where you wake up in the night but your body is still asleep, only your conscious mind is awake. The name for this state is sleep paralysis. Don’t worry if it does happen just remember that it can happen in this step. It should no longer happen as you carry onto the next steps in this learning how to meditate approach.

Step 3: Next 10 Days

Speaking your thoughts out load during days 11 to 20 is going to allow you to reduce the amount of thoughts going through your head. Lie down on your bed like before keeping one of your arms up in the air to wake you in case you fall asleep. Now while noticing your thoughts just take a thought and speak it out load by saying it. For instance: “I am thinking about my bank account statement” or “I am thinking about driving the children to school” or “I am thinking about finishing my project”. The thoughts you speak out load in this manner soon disappear from your mind as you voice them.

Step 4: Last 10 days

Days 21 to 30 are the last 10 days of this learning how to meditate approach. During this time you do all you have learned before. Noticing your thoughts and clearing them by speaking them out loud while lying down with you arm on guard. While doing this become aware of a state of total calmness. Your mind feels calm, your body feels calm and your emotions feel calm. From within this calmness you continue clearing any thoughts that pop up. After this period you will have learned to meditate and already will you be experiencing the benefits of more determination and staying power, less stress, better concentration, more restful sleep and increased confidence.

The sooner you start the sooner you will be meditating for your better health and happiness. This is an important start of your mediating journey because you will find that over time it evolves and you will experience more and more benefits as you progress. And no, you do not need to continue lying down in fact switch to sitting up meditation when you feel comfortable doing that after completion of these 4 learning how to meditate steps.
